RARE OPPORTUNITY! The Story:
From the information gathered this 1968 AMC AMX was purchased in 1969 by two brothers brand new.
Their intentions were to keep this car in pristine condition and never sell it.
One of the brothers was in the military and sent to Vietnam a few months after they purchased the car.
He unfortunately died in Vietnam fighting for our country.
The other brother kept the car for the next 36 years until his passing in 2005.
As of the year 2000 he lived in Grandville, MI.
During the time of ownership he had the car professionally painted in the original color of Calcutta Russett in the year 2000.
The car was sold by the brother's widow in 2005 to a gentleman from Georgia named James Graubard.
The car had 45,000 original miles at time of sale.
James is considered the second owner since it was family owned prior.
James spent the next 11 years cherishing and enjoying the car.
During his time of ownership James did some restoration work.
He added a total of 7,775 miles on the car.
He's the one who made the car famous showing it.
In 2016, he decided to sell the car and MS CLASSIC CARS purchased it.
MS CLASSIC CARS put the car through the process and then immediately sold it to gentleman who was a previous customer in April of 2016 with 52,772 original miles.
This gentleman lives in New Hampshire and has a small classic car collection.
During his time of ownership he also cherished and enjoyed the car.
He added a total of 544 miles on the car.
In 2020, he decided to sell the car contacted MS CLASSIC CARS first.
In September of 2020 MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the vehicle with 53,316 original miles.
Since MS CLASSIC CARS sold the car immediately the first time this is really the first time it's been listed for sale.

It has limited ownership history with only 53,347 original miles.

This is a very rare opportunity to purchase a classic muscle car that has received great press.
The exterior of this car is in beautiful condition throughout.
When James had the car he ended up deciding to replace the rear quarters because he noticed a couple of small spots of rust.
The replacement quarters were NOS- new old stock and not aftermarket.
He had the bodywork done by a well-known AMC AMX expert located in Ohio.
Once the body work was completed the car was re-painted again.
The body on the car is straight and it has very nice gaps lines throughout.
The hood, doors and trunk lid open and close very nicely.
The car was painted in its original and rare color of Calcutta Russett.
The car sports white dual racing stripes which add the icing on the cake.
This is a beautiful color especially in the direct sunlight.
The interior of this car is also in beautiful condition throughout.
Most of the black interior is original which is reflective of the 53,347 original miles.
It truly looks like the entire interior has been restored it's so nice.
Some of the beautiful interior pieces include the ribbed headliner, sun visors, rear view mirror, dash, dash hardware, gauges, wood steering wheel, shift command console, shifter, door sills, door panels with wood trim, door hardware, From the information gathered only a few interior trim pieces were replaced such as the carpeting.
The bucket seats were re-foamed and recovered in 1999 which is documented with a receipt that is included.
It has the factory dash warp that there is a manufactures service bulletin for.
This service bulletin is included.
The plaque on the center of the dash face reads #06199.
It has the desirable Rally Pac gauges.
The stock radio was converted to AM/FM with RCA inputs for Ipod, etc.
It also has upgraded dual cone speakers that retain the factory appearance.
The engine compartment is very detailed and has many new parts throughout.
The entire engine compartmented was painted and it looks amazing.
All of the original style factory stickers have been added.
The new hood insulation pad fits and looks great.
All of the parts were restored or replaced new which is documented with receipts that are included.
The car is powered by the original matching numbers 390 V8 engine with group #19 performance cam.
This engine was refreshed but never rebuilt by the second owner in 2005 which is documented with a receipt that is included.
At that time the engine only had 45,000 original miles and didn't need rebuilding.
This engine starts and runs great.
The engine is equipped with the rare Edelbrock R48 intake with American Motor Cars part number installed by the original selling dealer.
The original carburetor was replaced a new Edelbrock which performs much better.
The stock air cleaner could not be used with the Edlebrock R48 intake chrome aftermarket air cleaner was added.
The air cleaner matches the chrome valve covers.
An electronic ignition system was also added for easier starting.
It's equipped with many correct parts such as the Motorola alternator, American Motors hoses, clamps and clear power battery.
The engine breathes through the factory manifolds and a custom Flowmaster dual exhaust system.
This engine sounds so awesome with this exhaust system.
The engine is coupled to a 3-speed automatic transmission and POSI rear end with 3.
54 gears.
The rear end was serviced by the original owner in 1998.
The undercarriage is very clean throughout.
It was undercoated at the dealership when it was new to prevent any rust.
MS CLASSIC CARS cleaned the undercarriage and re-painted the undercoating for cosmetic reasons.
The original owner had an extra spring installed on each side of the rear to give it an aggressive look.
The steering system, suspension system and braking system has been restored or replaced.
